2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 25th Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board RMS Karmala 3 February 1917.

The RMS Karmala weighed 8,9479 with an average cruise speed of 15 knots or 27.78 kmph. It was owned by the P & O SN Co, London.

HMAT A42 Boorara 

 

2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 26th Reinforcements, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A42 Boorara on 10 May 1917.

The HMAT A42 Boorara weighed 5,923 tons with an average cruise speed of 10.5 knots or 19.44 kmph. The Boorara was previously a captured German vessel called Pfalz. It was manned by Australia officers and crew and transferred to Commonwealth Government Line, 24 June 1919.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

The HMAT A55 Kyarra weighed 6,953 tons with an average cruise speed of 14 knots or 25.92 kmph. It was owned by the AUSN Co Ltd, London, and manned by Australia officers and crew. The Kyarra was leased by the Commonwealth until 4 January 1918. The Kyarra was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine in the English Channel, 26 May 1918.

3422 Private Edward Samuel JONES, a 29 year old Cab driver from East Warwick, Queensland. He enlisted on 5 June 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

3406 Sergeant Samuel Charlton KIRKPATRICK, a 26 year old Soldier, Australian Instructional Staff from Meringandan, Queensland. He enlisted on 1 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

3423 Private Selby Ord LINEDALE, a 19 year old Bank clerk from Atherton, Queensland. He enlisted on 1 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 29 April 1919.

 

3424 Private James McDONNELL, a 36 year old Labourer from Binjour Plateau Gayndah, Queensland. He enlisted on 1 November 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

3426 Private Angus Neil McKECHNIE, a 19 year old Farmer from Sandy Creek Beaudesert, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 May 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

3427 Private George Arthur PERKINS, an 18 year old Farmer from Speedwell, Queensland. He enlisted on 6 June 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

3407 Acting Corporal Robert Christopher PICKERING, a 29 year old Soldier / A&I Staff from West End, Queensland. He enlisted on 19 May 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 29 March 1919.

3428 Private Eric Edgar POTTER, a 20 year old Farmer from Speedwell, Queensland. He enlisted on 6 June 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

3431 Private Hugh Thomas SCOTT, a 26 year old Grazier from Plain View, Queensland. He enlisted on 1 November 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 31 March 1919.

3438 Private James Tindal Stuart SCRYMGEOUR, a 31 year old Grazier from North Callandoon Goondiwindi, Queensland. He enlisted on 21 October 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 30 August 1918.

3432 Private Lawrence SHANNON, a 30 year old Clerk from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 11 June 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 2 January 1919.

3433 Private Francis SIES, a 21 year old Carpenter from Mackay, Queensland. He enlisted on 14 February 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

3434 Private George Henry SMITH, a 35 year old Stockman from Rosewood, Queensland. He enlisted on 24 May 1917; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

3435 Private James WALLACE, a 37 year old Painter from Barcaldine, Queensland. He enlisted on 2 June 1917; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 22 December 1918.
