2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 20th Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board RMS Malwa 22 July 1916.

The RMS Malwa weighed 10,883 tons with an average cruise speed of 15 knots or 27.78 kmph. It was owned by the P & O SN Co, London.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

2868 Private William Edward Harold BUNKUM, a 21 year old Dairyman from Aspley, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 December 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 14 July 1918.

2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 21st Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board RMS Mooltan 19 August 1916.

The RMS Mooltan weighed 9,621 tons with an average cruise speed of 18.5 knots or 34.26 kmph. It was owned by the P & O SN Co, London. On 26 July 1917, the RMS Mooltan was torpedoed and sunk by UC27.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

The HMAT A43 Barunga weighed 7,484 tons with an average cruise speed of 11 knots or 20.37 kmph. The Barunga was previously a captured German vessel called Sumatra. It was manned by Australia officers and crew. The Barunga was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine in the North Atlantic, 15 July 1918.

3129 Private James McKELLAR, a 24 year old Carpenter from Hyde Park Townsville, Queensland. He enlisted on 3 April 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 10 April 1919.

3131 Private John William MUNRO, a 21 year old Clerk from West Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 31 October 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 16 March 1919.

3132 Private Melbourne Mario PIETRICHE, a 24 year old Overseer from Townsville, Queensland. He enlisted on 13 November 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

3121 Private William Selwyn SMALL, a 23 year old Loco fireman from Camira Creek via Grafton, New South Wales. He enlisted on 27 October 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

3122 Private Edgar STEPHENSON, a 27 year old Policeman from Stanthorpe, Queensland. He enlisted on 24 April 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 11 July 1917.

 

3135 Private William Clarke THOMPSON, a 25 year old Orchardist from Pine Vale, Queensland. He enlisted on 16 October 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 4 March 1919.

3136 Private Michael James TISDALL, an 18 year old Drover from Bowen Hills, Queensland. He enlisted on 15 April 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 23 December 1918.

Captain Manor Charles TROTTER, a 34 year old Cashier from Sherwood, Queensland. He enlisted on 8 September 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 29 May 1917.

 

3113 Private Francis William Edgar VALE-HUARTSON, a 32 year old Book keeper from Hughenden, Queensland. He enlisted on 8 November 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 3 February 1917.

 

3138 Private Stanley Gordon WALKER, a 23 year old Watchmaker from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 2 October 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.

3137 Private Norman Thomas WALSH, an 18 year old Carter from Kelvin Grove, Queensland. He enlisted on 15 August 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.
