2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, "C" Squadron, embarked from Brisbane, Queensland on board HMAT A15 Star of England 24 September 1914.

The HMAT A15 Star of England, later renamed Port Sydney, weighed 9,136 tons with an average cruise speed of 13.5 knots or 25.00 kmph. It was owned by the Commonwealth & Dominion Line Ltd, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 22 September 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

The last occupation held;

The last address as a civilian;

Enlistment Date; and,

HMAT A17 Port Lincoln

 

3rd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 29th Reinforcement Port Lincoln Group, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A17 Port Lincoln 22 June 1917.

The HMAT A17 Port Lincoln weighed 7,243 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Commonwealth & Dominion Line Ltd, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 26 September 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

Rank on embarkation;

Full name of the soldier

Declared age of the soldier;

The last occupation held;

The last address as a civilian;

Enlistment Date; and,

Fate.

3410 Private Johan Frederick Gruoob BAY, a 19 year old Labourer from Queenstown, South Australia. He enlisted on 27 March 1917; and subsequently was Discharged in Britain, 23 May 1919.

 

3411 Private Arthur Frederick DIBBEN, a 29 year old Farmer from Pinnaroo, South Australia. He enlisted on 13 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 10 July 1919.

 

3412 Private Percival Horace EARL, a 24 year old Teamster from Angaston, South Australia. He enlisted on 15 April 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 May 1919.

3413 Private Wilhelm Berthold ECKERT, a 20 year old Farmer from Cleve, South Australia. He enlisted on 15 December 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 17 July 1919.

 

3415 Private Thomas GREEN, a 31 year old Boot maker from Broken Hill, New South Wales. He enlisted on 17 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 19 February 1919.

 

3417 Private Victor Corneille LUCIEER, an 18 year old Labourer from Pinnaroo, South Australia. He enlisted on 3 April 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 29 April 1919.

 

3421 Private Otto William MacWATTERS, an 18 year old Labourer from Mt Gambier, South Australia / Port Augusta, South Australia. He enlisted on 11 April 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 May 1919.

3418 Private William Banyer MARTIN, a 20 year old Farmer from Brinkley via Murray Bridge, South Australia. He enlisted on 23 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 May 1919.

3420 Private John McDONALD, a 37 year old Horse breaker from Tolarno Station Darling River, New South Wales. He enlisted on 9 April 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 10 July 1919.

 

3422 Private Harry PEEL, a 21 year old Tracker from Port Pirie, South Australia. He enlisted on 21 April 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 May 1919.

 

3427 Private Lawrence STEWART, an 18 year old Station hand from Wooltana, South Australia. He enlisted on 23 April 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 May 1919.

 

3407 Acting Corporal Roy William WING, a 22 year old Engineer from Sunrise, Tasmania. He enlisted on 1 May 1917; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 24 June 1916.

2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, Machine Gun Section, embarked from Brisbane, Queensland on board HMAT A15 Star of England 24 September 1914.

The HMAT A15 Star of England, later renamed Port Sydney, weighed 9,136 tons with an average cruise speed of 13.5 knots or 25.00 kmph. It was owned by the Commonwealth & Dominion Line Ltd, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 22 September 1917.

52 Private Pentleton Stewart CLAYTON, a 29 year old Motor Mechanic from Vernlain, New South Wales. He enlisted on 23 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 7 November 1915.

 

53 Driver Cyril Ernest EAUSTAUGHFFE, a 23 year old Rail porter from Childers, Queensland. He enlisted on 19 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 11 March 1916.

 

55 Private Hamlyn George FAULKNER, a 19 year old Draughtsman from Indooroopilly, Queensland. He enlisted on 31 August 1914; and subsequently was Discharged, 27 December 1915.

54 Private Hugh FULTON, a 26 year old Labourer from Mudgeeraba, Queensland Wash Pool Farm, Queensland. He enlisted on 21 August 1914; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 26 July 1919.

 

56 Driver Donald Edwin Robinson GRAHAM, a 19 year old Upholsterer from Lismore, New South Wales. He enlisted on 22 August 1914; and subsequently Died of Accident, 8 November 1916.

57 Driver Frederick Stephen HUDSON, a 23 year old Electrician from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 19 August 1914; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 12 October 1916.

 

60 Driver Frank JAMES, a 25 year old Labourer from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 19 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 27 August 1915.

 

61 Private Walter Alistair KIRK, a 27 year old Motor Engineer from Sydney, New South Wales. He enlisted on 24 August 1914; and subsequently was Discharged in Britain, 25 February 1919.

62 Private Lancelot KIRKLEY, a 28 year old Painter from Maryborough, Queensland. He enlisted on 24 August 1914; and subsequently was Discharged in Britain, 31 December 1919.

 

63 Private Ernest Richard Joseph LITTLER, a 25 year old Civil Servant from Rockhampton, Queensland. He enlisted on 19 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 12 March 1918.

 

Lieutenant Andrew MARTIN, a 26 year old Clerk from Sherwood, Queensland. He enlisted on 24 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 30 March 1918.

74 Lance Corporal Robert James McCREEDY, a 24 year old Shunter from West End, Queensland. He enlisted on 17 September 1914; and subsequently Died of Disease, 16 November 1915.

66 Private Joseph Francis McDONNELL, a 22 year old Surveyors assistant from Waverley, New South Wales. He enlisted on 23 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 14 August 1915.

65 Private Robert Harold McNAMARA, a 21 year old Customs agent from Mt Morgan, Queensland. He enlisted on 23 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 23 December 1918.

64 Driver Charles Connor MOORE, a 35 year old Farmer from Peeramon via Cairns, Queensland. He enlisted on 21 August 1914; and subsequently was Discharged, 20 October 1915.

 

68 Private Eustace William ROSE, a 32 year old Labourer from Cooran, Queensland. He enlisted on 22 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 5 July 1915.

 

69 Private Frank Hugo SHARP, a 29 year old Carpenter from Gayndah, Queensland. He enlisted on 22 August 1914; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 15 May 1919.

70 Driver Jeffrey STONE, a 19 year old Printer from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 19 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 15 February 1918.

 

71 Lance Corporal Alexander Herbert WALKER, a 24 year old Jeweller from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 24 August 1914; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 15 May 1919.

73 Lance Corporal Matthew WARD, a 44 year old Groom from Mitchell, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 September 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 25 November 1918.

48 Squadron Sergeant Major George Herbert WILLIAMS, a 32 year old Soldier/ A&I staff from Gympie, Queensland. He enlisted on 26 August 1914; and subsequently was Discharged, 19 October 1914.

72 Lance Corporal Thomas Percy WINTERTON, a 20 year old Farmer from Lismore, New South Wales. He enlisted on 22 August 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 14 August 1915.
