12th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 3rd Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A54 Runic 9 August 1915.

The HMAT A54 Runic weighed 12,490 tons with an average cruise speed of 13 knots or 24.07 kmph. It was owned by the Oceanic SN Co Ltd, Liverpool, and leased by the Commonwealth until 27 November 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

917 Private Stanley Patrick BIRMINGHAM, a 27 year old Clerk from Parramatta, New South Wales. He enlisted on 4 March 1915; and subsequently Died of Disease, 25 October 1918.

Lieutenant Charles Anthony BROUGH, a 25 year old Auctioneer from Petersham, New South Wales. He enlisted on 29 April 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 21 July 1917.

916 Private Colin Brodie BULL, a 20 year old Drover from Ashfield, New South Wales. He enlisted on 3 May 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 31 October 1917.

915 Private Reginald Charles BURGESS, a 19 year old Carter from Drummoyne, New South Wales. He enlisted on 3 May 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.

914 Sergeant John James BURNS, a 43 year old letter carrier from Chatswood, New South Wales. He enlisted on 2 May 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 2 September 1916.

 

918 Private Allan Begbie CAMPBELL, a 26 year old Station hand from Sydney, New South Wales. He enlisted on 28 April 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 19 April 1917.

923 Private Harry Rex George COLEY, a 19 year old Farmer from Mosman, New South Wales. He enlisted on 4 June 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 31 October 1917.

919 Private Frederick Andrew CONLON, a 29 year old Contractor from West Maitland, New South Wales. He enlisted on 9 February 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 18 July 1919.

922 Private Herbert Harold COOPER, a 26 year old Drover from Uralla, New South Wales. He enlisted on 5 April 1915; and subsequently Died of Disease, 25 February 1917.

964 Private William Arthur COOPER, a 35 year old Butcher from Culcairn, New South Wales. He enlisted on 16 June 1915; and subsequently was Discharged, 4 March 1918.

920 Private Frank COTES, a 34 year old Salesman from North Sydney, New South Wales. He enlisted on 17 May 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 9 July 1919.

1160 Private Andrew FERGUSON, a 26 year old Tea Traveller from Waverley, New South Wales. He enlisted on 22 October 1915; and subsequently was Discharged in Britain, 5 April 1919.

1161 Private Frederick Francis FORD, a 26 year old Contractor from Glen Innes, New South Wales. He enlisted on 12 October 1915; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 23 November 1917.
