History:

During the 1903 restructure, the Queensland Mounted Infantry 1st Battalion "A", "B", "C" and "E" companies were formed into the new 13th Australian Light Horse Regiment (Queensland Mounted Infantry). The introduction of universal service after the Kitchener Report led to the reformation of the 15th Australian Light Horse into the renamed 2nd (Queensland Mounted Infantry) Light Horse.
