I'm trying to dscover anything about my grandfather's unit in WW1 which served in the Middle East. His record describes him as a trooper in the 2nd Remount Unit. I assume that this was connected with the Light Horse? He served in the Middel East (according to his ww1 dossier) and was invalided home from there in 1918 having joined in Sydney in 1915. Has anyone any information please on this unit and what it was? I've managed to obtain a copy of the official history of the Sinai campaign but can find no reference to the remount unit.
