hope this doesn't confuse things to much, but the book by elyne mitchell on the lighthorse, shows a sergeant with holster on r/hand side butt facing backwards.Another book put our by time life, shows an officer with an open top holster on the left with butt facing forward. The way the butt of the pistol points indicates most times what hand draws the revolver.Remember the webley revolver action was opened by a stirrup catch that was located on the left of the revolver this was operated by the thumb of the right hand with out the hand changing position on the grip of the revol;ver there fore this type of revolver is very hard to operated left hand.Confusing ehhhhhhhh
