Hi Greg. I realise that it's been a long while since you posted your message in the Aust Light Horse Assoc. page, and I presume that by now you will have obtained an answer to your question.
You may however be able to assit me.
I am helping the Army Museum, SA, and have come across two lovely old saddles which need some TLC. The markings on one of them is as follows: C.G.H.F. this is underlined, with the defence forces arrow pointing upwards underneath the underline.
B.D.
F with the defence forces arrow on top, pointing upwards
S with the defence forces arrow on top, pointing upwards, and towards the rear of the saddle.
All of the following together as one marking, as shown below: 214 underlined C 15 L H
I realise that 15 LH is 15th Light Horse, but are you able to tell me anything about the other markings? and.... do you have any diagrams etc. of saddles that you can email me?
