2 Cav also has troops on active service in Timor - indeed they were the first to see active service with any links to the light horse! 2 Cav Regt colours are light blue over a dark blue, yet its guidon is white over green. It is a shame that there is no strong link with this, the only fully regular unit in the Australian army that can claim links with the light horse.
