2 Cav is a mechanised armoured unit which really dates back to the 2nd AIF (WWII) which doesnt really tie with Light Horse because the Light Horse were mounted Infantry in WWI but during the interwar period the LH Regiments, although effectively cavalry by then were all CMF (reserves) units. Today all armoured units with LH links are at least partially reverve. 2/14 at Enoggera is a composite unit of regs and reserves. part of that unit is currently in Timor.
