My family has a long association with the mounted infantry. My great-grandfather served as an NCO with the East riding Yeomanry prior to emigrating to Australia. Family members on my fathers side of the family served with the 9th Light Horse in World War One but what I have never been able to trace is a badge from my mothers side of the family. It has the Adelaide Lancers Light Horse Regiment in a circle in the middle of the badge, for God, King and Country in a scroll underneath and behind this are two crossed lances with pennants. The badge was obviously worn on a slouch hat. Anyone know what unit this belongs to ?. A volunteer regiment obviously, but does this have links to the 9th L.H. ? Would appreciate help in identifying this "unidentfied unit", ANTHONY PETCH. LOXTON S.A.
