Mario, If it is an original you may take months to get it supple. The short cuts are all bad alternative. Dont use too much dressing, it will oil the leather too much and make it almost unusable (if any items this age are really usable; it probably should be for display only) For parade use, a wax based, silicon free polish like ANGELUS is good. It replaces oils naturally with out being over the top. Gives a great shine too.
