The riders in the Light Horse competed in all sorts of mounted sports. THe reports of the sports held in Brisbane to celebrate the Federation of Australia on 01.01.1901 give the results of the tent pegging competition for the Queensland Mounted Infantry; a unit which never carried lances as part of their equipment. Skill at arms on horseback was a matter of pride for the riders.
