Great news for all of you trying to find this great film on video! Please go to <enquiries@screensound.gov.au> The Australian Film & sound Archives are holding a copy on 1/2" Betamax magnetic tape in their Archives at Canberra. While I have yet to be doubly sure any video copies are both widescreen & I assume the full length 131 minutes, they can supply copies on PAL VHS video for sale! In the past I imported PAL videos fro mthe arcvives & had them transferred locally to our North American NTSC standard. An easy task if you have a friendly video lab handy. It is also possible the Archives people will transfer from PAL to NTSC for an additional charge before shipping tapes overseas. Suggest anyone interested e-mail to them on this. Let's get this magnificent film back in as many hands as we can, as it was originally sot. Not the cut, panned & scanned version that has been available on the market elsewhere! apart fro ma few such copies floating around, "The Lighthorsemen" has about vanished! Simon Wincer's tv film Louis L'Amour's "Crossfire Trail" with Tom Selleck is now out in North America on DVD & should not be missed! A terrific film shot around Calgary, Alberta subbing for Wyoming. Highest rated cable tv film ever! Sincerely, John L. Matthew <larry-751@excite.com>
