hi, i have logged on to this web site for the first time and was thrilled. My grandfather mr duncan mckenzie from inverell was as far as we know the first to restart the lighthorse movement, with an escort of queen elizabeth through tamworth in (ithink) 1977? from what i can remember there was even equipment borrowed from the household calvalry in london. i grew up hearing the stories of pop and his mates and sadly regret that i did not record them all. in regards to the movie the lighthorsemen my father was actually in the movie and the main actors used pops gear and they used his old manuals as reference material. in recognition of this the australian country premier was held at the invereel drive inn with pop and all his mates in full uniform as special guests. would love to hear from anyone who knew the old fella he is sadly missed by us all. i have a lot of his old photos if anyone is interested including the ones from their trip to tulare in califonia to take part in their county fair
