Barry: your forebear originally enlisted in the 19th Reinforcements of the 19th Infantry Battalion on 20 November 1916, sailing with that battalion aboard His Majesty's Australian Transport A18, Wiltshire from Sydney on 7 February 1917. At time of enlistment he was a 28 year old married fireman, address given to be 89 Everleigh Street, Redfern in Sydney, next of kin stated to be his wife, Mrs R Hollitt. No reference on the emabarkation roll for the 19th Battalion's 19th Reinforcements mention 1st Australian Light Horse regiment. Refer to one of my earlier notice board contributions for address of the Australian National Archive's World War One Personnel Records section. Each dossier wiill cost about sixteen dollars, invoice being sent with dossier. Hoping this is of some assistance, best regards from diggerdave.
