Tanks at that time were at a great disadvantage being so slow, that the gunners had more then enough time to range on them and knock them out.

there were ten tanks at the 2nd Battle of Gaza of which two were allocated to the 54th British Div (the remainder were with other Div's in front of Gaza), one was knocked out on the 17th April which left HMLS Nutty when the camel Bde was attached on the 19th April.

Tanks were used again during the 3rd Battle of Gaza (Beersheba) but only in front of the Gaza defences and again suffered for there weakness.
