Hi Rick,

For background on what the 10th Light Horse were doing, where and when, try to get hold of the following: Olden, A.C.N. "Westralian Cavalry In The War . The Story of the 10th Light Horse Regiment in the Great War, 1914 - 1918".(Reprinted recently).

For service at Gallipoli only: Bean, C.E.W. "The Official History of Australia in the War of 1914-1918, Volume 2: The Story of Anzac. From 4 May 1915, to the Evacuation of the Gallipoli Peninsula".

Also of course the movie 'Gallipoli' concerns mainly the 10th Light Horse.

Also for the 16th Battalion: Longmore, Cyril. "The Old Sixteenth, Being a record of the 16th Battalion, A.I.F., during the Great War, 1914 - 1918". History Committee, 16th Bn. Association, Perth, 1929.

And for Mouquet Farm: Bean, C. E. W. "The Official History of Australia in the War of 1914-1918, Vol. III. The A.I.F. in France 1916".

I'd be very interested in knowing more about your Great-Uncle's letters and would like to hear more regarding them. If this is okay with you, you can contact me directly through the email address above.

Regards,

Bryn Dolan
