bryn,

You are right.

The list is No 11 "Prisoners of War in Turkey" AWM 10 4770/76/7 pages 113/114,

it lists the prisoners by regiment of those captured by the turks with dates and place of capture.

I know it is incorrect but some times that is all we get from the AWM.

The Light horse were hardly in a position to be captured when they could mount up and ride away and were mostly captured in ambush.

Units like the camel corps couldn't do that and were forced to fight it out hence their heavier casualties and prisoners.

One could say if the 4th Light horse brigade had fought harder it may not have lost all the guns in May 1918.

We sometimes give our countrymen this myth of invinceablity when they in fact suffered a number of set backs, purhaps we should talk of these as well as the victories.
