Thank you for reading. I am currently seeking information regarding the logistical effort required to put 10-20,000 light horsemen ashore in a desert clime and keep them supported. Using the tool of a being a fiction writer, I am working on a series that, while the troops featured are not Australian Light Horsemen, will attempt to replicate the Australian's Palestine campaign of WW1. I would also be interested in liasing with someone regarding strategum, tactics and formations of utilising cavalry under battle conditions. This fictional series (Trilogy) has so far, dealt with several conflicts from man's history. 216BC, the Battle of Cannae, The Naval battle of Sluys 1216, the Israeli Emmbassy Munich seige and hostage rescue, 1970, Iwo Jima, Pacific Ocean, 1945 and that brings us up to the current novel. A desert campaign against a fanatical enemy set in a 'North Africa' type location. Think 'Desert Fox' and you are close to the money with regards the story. All assistance will be acknowledged in the acknowledgements and/or in the bibliography. Best regards Michael c. Deegan E-mail to: capricious@bigpond.com
