It has now been almost three weeks since I contacted the Department of Veterans' Affairs seeking the enlistment details of the said person. You may recall, good readers, that I was referred to the DVA after the NSW State RSL HQ could shed no light what so ever on my inquiry. Some of you may remember about four years ago the claim made by 'someone' that 'Snowy' Hollingsworth (aka Herbert Bowden, 7th ALH) was the last survivor of the Charge at Beersheba on 31st October 1917, when in ACTUAL FACT 'Snowy' was in the Light Horse Training Camp at Liverpool, near Sydney, at the time, 12,000 miles away. I shall keep you all posted. One would think that a simple question would be simple to answer. Perhaps I will refer this to the media for some journalistic research.
