The statement that nurses rode horses, but only in emergencies (I thought time of war was an emergency) was a leading figure in the ALHA and a re-enactor from Quirindi (one Bob Gunning) and the statement about the light horse travelling on patrol one hundred miles a day came from another leading light horse re-enactor from Somersby (one Bob? Pankhurst). Sounds impressive to the uninformed!
