I have just read on 'The Australians At War' site's 'Great Search Strories' of the 'Bega Mounted Rifles.' I quote: " Private William Abrahams was excited about taking part in the Boer War. He joined the Bega Mounted Rifles with a number of other young men from the district." Had the author/s of this entry bothered to check Trooper Abraham's enlistment details, they would have found that Abrahams has actually enlisted in 'A' Squadron of the New South Wales Mounted Rifles, not the Bega Mounted Rifles as stated. Has anyone else come across any blatant mistakes and errors such as this lately? The ALHA Discussion is the ideal venue to expose and dispel these myths and untruths. Am I correct in saying that the producers of the 'Australians at War' series and the associated website received millions of dollars from the Department of Veterans Affairs?
