There is always some discustion on who won the Battle at Madghaba and rightly so. You mention the 1st LH Bde and it was the 3rd LHR which with the 1st Company with attached 4th company Camel Corps which captured the first redoubt that led to Chauvel's change of mind.
But we should not forget the actions of the 10th LHR or the NZ bde which also helped in pinning the turks and the 10th LH capture of a number of redoubts that sealed victory for our cause.
