Bryn,

I have checked your roll on the 5th LHR and besides the added info, follows the line of the book by Capt H Wetherell on the 5 LHR.

It was one of the reasons I had to copy all the embark rolls of all Light Horse units as the book left so many gaps in it. This is not a reflection on your reseach only that the cup was still half empty.

His book is full of good detail on the 5th LHR but little to notting on those who came from other units and you followed the same pattern.

The cases I looked at were the camel corps conection and was found wanting. Case in point:

Flohr Driver Martin 3/Bn ICC 28-7-18 discd 27-9-19 (in Wetherell's book)

Did you know Martin Flohr Pte 4488 was a Maltster age 18 from Toowoomba Qld Enlisted 31-8-15 and embarked with the 14R/9Bn. He was taken on strength 1 Anzac Bn March 1916 (not confirmed)and transfered to 3Bn 11Co July 1917. On the disbandment of the camel corps in July 1918 he went to the 5th LHR 28-7-18 (4488a) as his relation (possibly brother) W Flohr was in the 5th LHR.

I can supply details on all the others in your roll which have a camel corps conection if you like.

sorry if it sounds bad but that book lead me into other fields which in the long run proved to be of interest to me, dispite its contant.
