Years ago I was presented with a beer mug fashioned from a spent 76mm shell casing (presumably from a Scorpion turret). It had been fitted with a suitable handle and chromed inside and out and the primer tube had been removed and a machined plub put in its place. I wish to have some more produced to be gifted to various people. Does anybody know where I can procure spent 76mm shell casings at a reasonable price?

Also, about ten years ago I bought at an antique store in Melbourne a set of salt a pepper shakers made from a pair of .50cal rounds. I have no idea where they came from but presume that they were originally from an RAAC officer's mess. The maker had placed a round jacket at the open end and drill suitable holes for the salt and pepper. At the rimmed end of the round it had been threaded and a screw in base made from turned metal. The whole was chromed to a high finish. Regretfully I had left the salt shaker full for a number of years and recently found that the casing had almost completely coroded away. Does anybody know where I could get more .50cal casings and who may be able to produce more of the above items for me.

I am located in Perth.

Many thanks,

Tony
