Jerry,

I beleive the "800" refers to the whole Brigade involved in the charge not the two regiments involved?

But if you take the two regiments plus the Brigade HQ, MG Sqn, Notts Batty and LHFA. And along with the returning 11th LHR we have over 800?

You may also include how far the charge was, I ve read a large number of distances in books some converted others not?

I have the dairy entries of the 12th LHR and after action reports from Bouchier, Grant, Cameron and others but none give numbers involved.

The book by Lt GW Nutting "History of the 4th Light Horse Brigade" gives some idea of the brigade units involved in the charge.

The answer maybe not out there?
