I'm not as knowledgable as I'm sure most of you are, however most of the highly detailed books I've read on the charge (the good ones, mind you) never define the actual number only the divisions involved. My whole oral is blown now as I assumed that 800 LH rode against approx. 4000 Turks. The actual number at the charge is far, far over 800 (and I'm sure that my numbers are not even close to yours),so were the numbers of both sides a bit more even? If the numbers were, do you think that the charge would be as highly documented? Everyone I talk to, with very or no little knowledge (and I did a small college survey) at all of Beersheba all seemed to know a tiny bit and that was that there was a great number difference between the two. I'm lost now.
