Nick I'm not very familiar with which badges go with which hat, collar etc but I wear my father's Light Horse badge and whenever I do, it's commented on.(favourably!) Those who know what it is remark how lucky I am to have it and where did it come from - including on one occasion, a female Customs Officer at Tullamarine who is a re-enactor. Those who don't know what it is, ask, and also tell me how lucky I am to have such a wonderful reminder - of my Dad as well as of a special part of this country's heritage. The badge is large, basically 2 inches (5 and a half cms) circular with a wattle leaf surround, crown at the top and a beautiful rearing horse in the centre. Underneath is a latin inscription "mort majorum" with 8 at the base. Light Horse Indi I don't know if this will print up as I've written it, if not you'll have to try and work it out!
