Thanks Steve; Here's what I have in Lieut. Colonel Harris's Boer War service entry on the database:

Served as Lieutenant, Second (Queensland Mounted Infantry) Contingent. Sailed from Queensland aboard the 'Maori King' on 13 Jan 1900, disembarked at Cape Town on 24th. Promoted to Captain 22 November 1900. 'Operations as stated. Actions at Poplar Grove, Driefontein, Vet River, Zand River, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Riet Vlei, and Zilikat's Nek. Commanded Contingent, November to December, 1900; Australian Mounted Infantry, January, 1901, to March, 1901. Queen's Medal with four clasps.'

'To 7th March, 1901, under Captain H. J. I. Harris (Australian Mounted Infantry), in minor operations, Machadodorp District (Brigadier-General Reeves), as far east as Krokodil Poort.' The Contingent embarked at Cape Town aboard the Transport Tongariro on 31 March 1901, calling at Fremantle 20 April and Sydney 29 April. Left by rail, 1st May, arrived Brisbane 3rd May, disbanded 10th May 1901. (Murray p458, 459).

'2nd Queensland South African Contingent from 24th December 1899 to 10th May 1901. Promoted to Captain & commanded Contingent from November 1900 to disbandment. Commanded Australian Mounted Infantry (2nd Q.M.I., 2nd S.A.M.R. & Australian Horse) 10th December 1900 to 15th March 1901.' (Handwritten passage on 'Application for Commission', A.I.F. form, dated 12 October 1914 and signed by Hubert Harris, Lieut. Colonel).
