Noel William Howard GALE
166 Private Noel William Howard GALE, a 19 year old bank clerk from Church Hill, Goulburn, New South Wales, enlisted in the AIF on 19 August 1914 and was allotted to the Australian 2nd Infantry Battalion, "B" Company which embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A23 [i]Suffolk[/i] on 18 October 1914. During Great War, while with the 2nd Infantry Battalion, "A" Company, Lance Corporal GALE was Killed in Action around Anzac Cove, Turkey on 2 May 1915 and since there is no known grave he is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
