Colonel W. O. Mansbridge, D.S.O., one time of the "Old Sixteenth," and later C.O. of the 44th, is in town on holidays. He is Resident Magistrate at Broome when in harness, and no doubt sentences the evil-doer with the same twinkle in his eyes that was characteristic of the days when Orderly room was king. "Old Bill" was well in the limelight in the search for the Southern Cross, and it was not his fault as an organiser that the airmen wwi missing so long. The colonel is meeting so many Sixteenth and "Eggs-a-Cook" friends that last week he was afraid it would be neccesary to return to Broome to recuperate!
