Captain Douglas Murray McWHAE a 30 year old Medical practitioner from 7th Avenue, Maylands, Western Australia. He enlisted with the AIF on 17 August 1914 and was allotted to the 3rd Field Ambulance, C Section which embarked from Fremantle, Western Australia, on board HMAT A7 Medic on 2 November 1914. McWHAE subsequently was Wounded in Action, 28 April 1915. After the Great War, McWHAE Returned to Australia, 22 November 1919. McWHAE was awarded the CMG, CBE, Legion D'Honneur: Croix D'Officer and twice Mentioned in Despatches.
