9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Morphettville Race Course Camp and Broadmeadows Camp, Victoria.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Formation of Regiment occurring at Morphettville Race Course Camp, Adelaide, while "C" Squadron is formed at Broadmeadows Camp, Victoria.

9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Rhododendron Spur
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - More heavy rain today and more discomfort for troops owing to scarcity of roofing material. Pay drawn for Regiment. A plentiful supply of planks 9 x 2 and poles 4 x 4 has been received. Great improvement has been made in the fire trenches of the position and in bivouacs for the men. State strength 15 Officers, 299 Other Ranks, total 314. Bayonet strength 187. Sick to hospital 5 and from hospital 2.

9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Bir el Abd
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - 0930 Regiment moved out from its respective camps and took up positions as follows: Regimental Headquarters and "A" Squadron ½ mile west of Bir Ganadil. "B" Squadron about one mile north of "A" Squadron and "C" Squadron about 2½ miles east of Salmana.
An Outpost line established from 1 mile SE of Bir Ganadil to Katib Ganadil and thence north to the Bardawil. A Squadron finding 6 Posts - 3.7 and 9.5 each post 1 NCO and 6 other Ranks, the whole under 4 Officers.

9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Wilkinson, Captain R, left on Cairo leave. Williams, Captain H; and, 17 Other Ranks left for Port Said Rest Camp.
1918
Saturday, October 12, 1918
9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Kaukab
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - 0545 Dismounted parade of the Regiment. Commanding Officer warned all ranks of dangers of Cholera and necessary precautions to be taken. Stephen, Lieutenant HH, to hospital. Large amount of sickness in Regiment. Commenced using Turkish prisoners to build Maize shelters, cleaning of lines and other odd jobs. Foreman, 255 Sergeant JL, died of illness.
