7th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 22nd Reinforcement Clan Mcewen Group, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A65 Clan Mcewen 9 October 1916.
The HMAT A65 Clan Mcewen weighed 5,140 tons with an average cruise speed of 15 knots or 27.78 kmph. It was owned by the Cayser, Irvin and Co, Glasgow, and leased by the Commonwealth until 14 April 1917.
