RMS Morea

 

1st Light Horse Signal Troop, AIF, 18th Reinforcement, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board RMS Morea 30 May 1916.

The RMS Morea weighed 10,890 tons with an average cruise speed of 16 knots or 29.63 kmph. It was owned by the P & O SN Co, London. 

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

Rank on embarkation;

Full name of the soldier

Declared age of the soldier;

The last occupation held;

The last address as a civilian;

Enlistment Date; and,

Fate.

Embarkation Roll

 

9356 Sapper Henry Dalton GILES, a 26 year old Cook from N/R. He enlisted on 3 February 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 21 December 1918.

 

9367 Sapper Reginald Costerfield KIRKPATRICK, a 24 year old Motor driver from Prahran, Victoria. He enlisted on 21 February 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 18 July 1919.
