8th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 26th Reinforcement, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board RMS Morea 20 February 1917.

9th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, "A" Squadron, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A26 Armadale 12 February 1915.

The HMAT A26 Armadale weighed 6,153 tons with an average cruise speed of 11 knots or 20.37 kmph. It was owned by the Australind SS Co, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 7 June 1917. The Armadale was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine off coast of Ireland, 27 June 1917.

345 Provisional Sergeant Linton Hall SWANN, a 34 year old Farmer from Edwardstown, South Australia. He enlisted on 22 October 1914; and subsequently was Discharged, 8 December 1915.

 

347 Driver Oliver Frank Leopold TAYLOR, a 25 year old Livery stableman from Mt Gambier, South Australia. He enlisted on 24 October 1914; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 29 August 1915.

348 Private William TAYLOR, a 25 year old Labourer from Quorn, South Australia. He enlisted on 23 October 1914; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 March 1919.

349 Provisional Corporal Gomer THOMAS, a 45 year old Accountant from Parkside, South Australia. He enlisted on 14 September 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 23 August 1917.

350 Driver David THOMPSON, a 38 year old Boilermaker’s mate from Hindmarsh, South Australia. He enlisted on 20 October 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 31 January 1918.

351 Private Arthur TOBIN, a 30 year old Cook from Adelaide, South Australia. He enlisted on 24 October 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 15 February 1918.

564 Private Leslie Albert Llewellyn TREBILCOCK, an 18 year old Shoeing Smith from Moonta Mines, South Australia. He enlisted on 24 October 1914; and subsequently Died of Disease, 22 July 1915.

 

353 Private Henry Valentine VILLIERS, a 35 year old Labourer from Adelaide, South Australia. He enlisted on 20 October 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 10 July 1918.

 

649 Private Leonard Nelson WAINWRIGHT, a 30 year old Boundary rider from Melbourne, Victoria. He enlisted on 2 November 1914; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 4 March 1919.

354 Private Alexander John WALLACE, a 23 year old Labourer from Naracoorte, South Australia. He enlisted on 22 October 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 7 November 1915.

648 Private Roy Albert WHEATON, a 26 year old Seaman from Queenstown, South Australia. He enlisted on 23 November 1914; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 23 April 1917.

Second Lieutenant Godfrey William Warren WHITE, a 20 year old Journalist from Adelaide, South Australia. He enlisted on 1 November 1914; and subsequently was Discharged, 15 July 1917.

356 Private John Alexander WHITE, a 29 year old Carrier from Torrensville, South Australia. He enlisted on 21 October 1914; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 15 November 1919.

532 Private Frank WILCOMES, a 24 year old Labourer from Adelaide, South Australia. He enlisted on 4 November 1914; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 6 September 1919.

357 Private Leslie Samuel WILSON, a 29 year old Labourer from Torrensville, South Australia. He enlisted on 20 October 1914; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 22 June 1915.

 

211 Private Andrew Powell YEATES, a 44 year old Auctioneer’s Agent from Jamestown, South Australia. He enlisted on 11 September 1914; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 30 August 1915, and subsequently was buried at sea.

595 Private Charles Reginald YELLS, a 24 year old Labourer from Adelaide, South Australia. He enlisted on 29 September 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 18 December 1918.

359 Private Albert Roy YEO, a 21 year old Clerk from Largs Bay, South Australia. He enlisted on 22 October 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 23 July 1918.
