2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 18th Reinforcements, embarked from Brisbane, Queensland on board HMAT A49 Seang Choon 4 May 1916.

The HMAT A49 Seang Choon weighed 5,807 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Lim Chin Tsong, Rangoon. The Seang Choon was torpedoed and sunk off coast of Ireland, 10 July 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

Rank on embarkation;

Full name of the soldier;

Declared age of the soldier;

The last occupation held;

The last address as a civilian;

Enlistment Date; and,

Fate.

2637 Private Jeffrey Keston CARR, a 19 year old Clerk from Caringinal, Queensland. He enlisted on 23 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

2639 Private Edgar CHALLACOMBE, a 33 year old Stockman from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 20 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 5 February 1919.

2634 Private John Francis CROZIER, a 27 year old Farmer from Beaudesert, Queensland. He enlisted on 4 January 1916; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 11 January 1917.

2635 Private Robert James CROZIER, a 19 year old Farmer from Josephville via Beaudesert, Queensland. He enlisted on 4 January 1916; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 11 April 1918.

2632 Private Ernest CUNNINGHAM, a 28 year old Labourer from Muttaburra, Queensland. He enlisted on 18 October 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 1 January 1919.

2633 Private Hilton Lirkin CUNNINGHAM, a 26 year old Labourer from Muttaburra, Queensland. He enlisted on 8 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

2636 Private John Harold CURRIE, an 18 year old Coach painter from Gatton, Queensland. He enlisted on 23 December 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 17 August 1916.

 

2640 Private Mervyn George ENSBEY, an 18 year old Farmer from Rappaville, New South Wales. He enlisted on 5 November 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

2641 Private Roy Ernest FERGUSON, a 25 year old Timber getter from Bald Hills, Queensland. He enlisted on 3 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

2645 Private Charles Frederick James HANKEY, a 34 year old Carpenter from Beaudesert, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

2643 Private William Herbert HAYNES, a 24 year old Labourer from Roma, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 January 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 12 November 1917.

2644 Private Henry Austin HOGGETT, a 24 year old Labourer from Rookwood, Queensland. He enlisted on 20 January 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 20 November 1916.

2648 Private Charles Augustus Yorke JOHNSTON, a 23 year old Overseer from Alpha, Queensland. He enlisted on 22 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

2649 Private Henry Thomas JONES, a 21 year old Drover from Cunnamulla, Queensland. He enlisted on 11 January 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 15 February 1918.

 

2650 Private Raymond James LAIT, an 18 year old Labourer from Eumundi, Queensland. He enlisted on 3 November 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 23 March 1919.

2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 19th Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board RMS Mongolia 8 July 1916.

The RMS Mongolia weighed 4,892 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Indian & Peninsular St. Nav Co Ltd Glasgow. The RMS Mongolia was torpedoed and sunk on 21 July 1918.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

3007 Private Alfred LEWIS, a 43 year old Coach driver from Roma, Queensland. He enlisted on, 26 May 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 15 February 1918.

 

3028 Private Duncan George McINTYRE, a 26 year old Farmer from Lismore, New South Wales. He enlisted on, 21 March 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 22 January 1917.

3010 Private John Edward MISON, a 21 year old Farmer from Beach Mount via Nerang, Queensland. He enlisted on, 21 March 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 19 January 1919.

 

3012 Private Claude Frederick NOWLAND, a 30 year old Station hand from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on, 27 June 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

3013 Private Alfred Selwyn ROBERTSON, a 44 year old Stockman from Townsville, Queensland. He enlisted on, 17 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 16 March 1919.

3014 Private Angus Broughton ROBINSON, an 18 year old Labourer from Roma, Queensland. He enlisted on, 13 June 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

3020 Private John Dudley SEXTON, a 26 year old Well borer from Auchenflower, Queensland. He enlisted on, 6 July 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

3021 Private George SHAW, a 20 year old Farmer from Howard, Queensland. He enlisted on, 5 May 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

3023 Private Axel Oscar Emil SORENSEN, a 29 year old Head Stockman from North Rockhampton, Queensland. He enlisted on, 10 July 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

3019 Private Walter SPRATT, a 21 year old Jockey from Rockhampton, Queensland. He enlisted on, 11 January 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 23 August 1917.

3000 Private Victor William STANLEY, an 18 year old Clerk from Auchenflower, Queensland. He enlisted on, 29 December 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 17 December 1919.

 

3024 Private Owen Norman TANNER, a 23 year old Apiarist from Toowong, Queensland. He enlisted on, 24 January 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

3025 Private William Stephen TEARE, a 37 year old Labourer from Laidley, Queensland. He enlisted on, 23 March 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 12 November 1917.

 

3016 Private Osway Edric Hart WALL, a 25 year old Farmer from Baroona Hill, Queensland. He enlisted on, 9 June 1916; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 18 February 1919.

Lieutenant Fitzwilliam WENTWORTH, a 39 year old Grazier from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on, 4 February 1916; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 16 March 1918.
