You've used Bean's account of the charge of the 3rd light horse brigade at the nek from his official war histories as your description of the battle on your website. However, there are several aspects to the account which, I understand, have been proved incorrect. 1) the attack did not take place when the bombardment ceased, but 7 minutes later, as I’m sure you know, as much has been made of it. 2) no-one actually knows whether a flag was put up in the Turkish trench. Bean used second hand information 3) There were 4 waves and not three. This seems to me to be the most important error in this account.

I direct you to the excellent book: "The Nek : The Tragic Charge of the Light Horse at Gallipoli" by Peter Burness, Paul Burness Which is the most comprehensive covering of the nek I’ve read
