Further to my earlier comments; 3rd ALH Brigade Machine Gun Sqadron Colour Patch was purple over gold, looking at the left shoulder with the wearer looking to my left (of course!!!) the gold should be on the lower left of the patch. patch size was originally 2.5" x 1.5" Refer : Routine Orders No. 1 issued by Major General H.G.Chauvel, C.B.
