I find it difficult to agree with the sentiments of the previous writers. Morant was convicted of shooting prisoners. He has become a folk hero from the distance of 100 years and I believe he should be left. His only legacy to Australia was that the British could not try and execute Australians in WWI. Apart from that he has no real claim to fame other than the publicity campaign waged by the bulletin after is execution. Remember the Bulletin was one of the most vocal anti war magazines in Australia.
