Light Horse/Mounted Infantry in Boer War

Can someone please tell me if all Australian troops sent to the Boer War fought as mounted infantry? or did we have infantry fighting as infantry? If so, were they dressed in the same or similar uniforms as the British infantry? Were all Australian mounted infantry in the campaign dressed very similar?
