I am replying to gary lee who aked a question about the 17th Light horse regiment. He said he had a family members medal from this regiment...R.J. Fieldew. R.J Fieldew is my grandfather and from his army records I was aware that he obtained medals but have never seen them. My records show he was a member of the 17th Machine Gun Regiment and the 9th Light horse Regiment. As far as I know others members of my family are not aware of the location of this medal. I would be very interested in tracking it down as I am in the process of writing a Fieldew family history.
