Lt Col Miell is pictured in the recently published book, From the Saddle Bags at war by Joan Starr. He is seen mounted on his horse Inniskillen, with the history of the horse included. He is also in the Australian Stock Horse Society Federation Gallery in Scone NSW. Miell was originally appointed to command 5th Light Horse when it was planned as a composited Qld/SA unit. When it was changed to a Qld only unit, he returned to SA.
