The Federation Light Horse camp will be held in Toowoomba Queensland on Saturday 6th October and Sunday 7th October 2001. Saturday will be Presentation classes and Sporting events. Saturday evening will be a dinner hosted by the 11th Light Horse Association. This will be held in the Glenvale Room at the Showground, so no driving home after the dinner for those who are camping on the site!!! Dinner will be $25.00 plus drinks.

Sunday will be an early start with the unveiling of the Commemorative Plaque (by the Minister for Veterans Affairs)on the site of 11th Light Horse HQ at Newtown Park in Tor St Toowoomba. This will be finished in time for the parade to move to the nearby Clifford Park Racecourse and lead the Centenary of Federation Parade from the Race Course to the Showgrounds. This will involve up to 500 horses from all types of equestrian groups with the salute at the showgrounds being taken by LT GEN Cosgrove.

Friday 5th will also be a busy day, with a Youth Seminar, open to 13 to 17 year olds being held. Any teenagers (with basic riding skills)interested in learning about the light horse should contact us now.

Also on Friday will be the opening of the new Cobb & Co Museum Extensions in Toowoomba.

Monday will also have a screening (on the big screen) of a new print of the movie 40,000 Horsemen, with historical displays from the Chauvel Family and the 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment Museum.
