The Nominal Roll of the AIF shows the names and details of only three BREAKELLs. The only BREAKELL who was in the Australian Light Horse was Robert Francis, regimental number 2928, enlisted 19/5/16 and last known unit was the 10th Australian Light Horse Regiment, returning to Australia 14/3/19. I presume this bloke may have been your uncle. The other two were killed: Alfred Breakell, 6th Infantry Battalion DOW 22/5/15 at Gallipoli and Stanley Breakell, 28th Infantry Battalion KIA 3-6/11/16. Was your uncle from Western Australia? First World War Service records are available from: WW1 Personal Records Service, Australian Archives, PO Box 7425 CANBERRA MAIL CENTRE ACT 2610 and each copy will cost sixteen dollars and something cents. Further information about the 10th ALH Regiment can be found in Volume 7 of 'The Official History of Australia in the War of 1914-1918' by H.S. Gullett. There may also be a unit history of the 10th ALH. Hope this assists in some way.
