I have published the Boer War diaries of my grandfather, Herbert Bail of the 2 SAMR covering the period December 1900 to 1903. In his second term of enlistment he served with the Cape Mounted Police including a short stint as a guard at one of the British "concentration camps". He also served with 3 ALH and 1 ALH briefly before being severely wounded near Beersheba in November 1917.

The diaries recount an attempted ambush by the Boers and daily life for a trooper. The diaries are available from me for $10 each including postage (GST free. My postal address is 51 Nullagine Street, Fisher ACT 2611.
