Dear Diggerdave: Wow! My saying "Corunna" really got me in Dutch! Now I wonder if this Captain Chauvel could have been Charles' dad? Most references say his father was an officer in one of the LH regiments. Thanks for clearing up the female riders business. Certainly in the end credits for the Wincer film, horsewomen were mentioned. I rather think a lot of good people rallied round to help & as Simon said in a letter, it was very much a "labour of love" for everyone concerned. Like Mike Oxford & I guess a whole lot of others, I personally never tire of watching my laser discs of "The Lighthorsemen". Wincer's audio commentary on one of the analog tracks is an added bonus. I can't think of any other film that so completely mirrors the period, the people involved or their attitudes to life & things in general. It remains a classic & I hope will outlast the stupid criticisms some have levied against it! Thanks to the LHA the tradition is alive & thriving.
