Mike: I suggest you visit your council or regional library's Local Studies section and ask if they have on microfilm your local newspapers from 1914-1919 which may contain 'Letters From The Front' which were written by the men from the district to their family who in some cases passed them onto the newspapers for publication. You will more than likely find that the Illawarra men were drafted into many other battalions besides the 13th. I also suggest you refer to C E W Bean's Official History of the First World War (in twelve volumes) and check your names to the names in the index of each volume. Good hunting from diggerdave.
