you are right about the death penalty, in reseaching the soldiers of the Light Horse, I have come across a number who deserved it and maybe it might have effected the volenteers from home if carried out?

The use of Penal servitued was used in these cases or Hard Labour and British Prisons and our own Prisons carried many men convictied of the most terrible of crimes at the end of the War.

I congraulate our poly's for not succuming to British influence in these cases (which must have been Great), I wonder if the same could be said now. The death Penalty had little effect in any Army (of those who had it) as they still did the crimes, you could also say the same in the civilian world now as the USA knows full well.
